How to start a Fuse club

Students and teachers are in the school every day, so they lead Fuse clubs. To start the process, fill out the Fuse interest form. After that, here’s what happens.

  1. Fuse leadership will connect with you.
  2. Together, we’ll review and agree to the Fuse mission, vision, and guidelines.
  3. We’ll connect you with other Christian teachers, students, and leaders in your community to form a team.
  4. We’ll work with your team to submit an application to your school administration.
  5. Once your administration approves the club, we’ll send you Fuse materials to support you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why should I start a Fuse club instead of creating my own club with its own name?

Fuse is for Christian clubs starting in schools, whether or not they share the name! If you have questions or need help with a non-Fuse club, reach out to us so we can support you where we can.

That said, Fuse was created to make it easier for students and teachers to start effective Christian clubs so they can quickly begin loving and serving their schools.

If you start a Fuse club, you’ll be united with other Fuse clubs. You’ll have a simple and effective mission, a recognizable club brand, and a structure you can start with.

What if my administration rejects my club application?

First, respect your administration’s decision. Administrators do the hard and valuable work of running a public school system, and they should be appreciated.

Second, seek to understand their decision. Ask questions respectfully so you can make changes to your application and apply again in the future. Sometimes it takes years to get a club approved, and that’s normal.

In the meantime, you can love and serve others without a formal club. Attend a local church to meet other Christian students, write thank-you notes to teachers with your friends over lunch, and volunteer where you can.

Serving your school before your club is approved can help the administration understand Fuse’s vision and mission. But don’t serve your school to get something from them. Check your heart, and serve out of love alone.
